Contributions below the minimum threshold or made under an incorrect category can create challenges when calculating the corresponding period for retirement.
However, depending on the situation, contributions can be supplemented, allowing them to count toward retirement eligibility.
The supplementation of social security contributions involves paying the missing amount required to reach the minimum contribution set by law.
This can be done when contributions are made below the minimum wage or under a category incompatible with the intended benefit.
Here is a step-by-step guide to supplement contributions below the minimum:
- Access the Meu INSS app or website.
- Click on: New Request / Adjustments for Reaching Minimum Wage.
- Select Constitutional Amendment 103/2019.
- Enter your details and choose the year for supplementation.
- Choose the desired option:
Supplementing the contribution through a payment slip generated by the system.
b. Using the value of the contribution salary that exceeds the minimum threshold from one or more periods to complete the contribution salary for one or more other periods.
c. Grouping contribution salaries below the minimum threshold from different periods to meet the minimum contribution salary for one or more periods, ensuring the total does not exceed the minimum value of the contribution salary.
