DEPUTIES APPROVE BAN ON ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN STADIUMS

Published in 06 de Janeiro de 2025

The Sports Committee of the House of Representatives has approved a bill prohibiting the sale, distribution, and possession of alcoholic beverages in stadiums. This measure applies to professional soccer championships.

If enacted, the sale and possession of glass bottles within a 500-meter radius of stadiums will also be prohibited on the days of professional games in national and regional championships.

The bill aims to reduce violence among fans, as the consumption of alcoholic beverages is considered a potential trigger for violent conflicts, including those in the context of soccer.

The proposal will now be reviewed by the Consumer Protection Committee and the Committee on Constitution, Justice, and Citizenship.
